We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Operational Manager to help deliver the annual revenue and capital programme of works. You will also be included within the senior duty officer team responsible for managing the operational delivery of winter maintenance and out of hour’s emergencies within Highways Maintenance

You will be part of a team, whose core business is to manage the delivery of highway maintenance works efficiently, effectively and with customer focus.

Operations Managers are key to the success of the City Council’s Direct Labour Organisation; the role requires a broad skill set where strong communication and management skills are just as important as a competent technical highways engineering background.

You will typically be responsible for the revenue budget within a defined area and manage the work schedule for the year.  You will also be responsible for ensuring work teams have a consistent understanding of systems and processes and that all team members operate efficiently and effectively within the health and safety codes of practice.
