The Wycombe district has a lively cultural scene, bustling shops and beautiful countryside.  Wycombe?s increasing attraction as a shopping venue, enhanced by the addition of new hotels and a regenerated railway station, is complemented by Wycombe Swan Theatre which attracts major productions. Sport plays an important role, with numerous clubs and groups hosted in the district and catering to a variety of levels from beginners to international and professional.

The Wycombe district is in south-west Buckinghamshire, midway between London and Oxford; a section of the M40 motorway runs through the district and there are fast train connections to London and the Midlands.  Three quarters of the district is rural, with much of the countryside designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its built up areas vary in size and character, with the major towns of High Wycombe, Marlow and Princes Risborough complemented by smaller towns, villages and hamlets. Employment in the district: While the strong furniture making tradition continues in the district, other employment sectors have since emerged and grown. In recent years, the district has become a hub for creative industries, media and green business, financial and pharmaceutical and high technology industries.
